It’s been stated by the Town of Perdido Beach Mayor and Town Council that there’s no trash problems with PUBLIC areas and the citizens shouldn’t be concerned. OK. Let’s play the “What’s on the ground RIGHT NOW game”
I’ll talk into a phone saying what I see on the ground as I walk and crisscross a piece of property.
1st area – 70′ x 90’ on Private property just to the north of the proposed State St PUBLIC boat launch in Perdido Beach, AL. –
Nothing is on the ground here… except for grass and sand ….absolutely nothing. (Note this area is twice as large as the PUBLIC area below just to try and give them a fighting chance.)
2nd area – 70’ x 45’ at end of the State St easement where the PUBLIC now congregates (yeah thanks for that Town Council and Mayor)

This is all within 35′ of two trash cans. They just couldn’t be bothered.

then they just won’t come anymore.

This is well before people even start coming for the boat launch. The problem started last year after the project was announced. If people don’t own it then they don’t care how they leave it.
Myself and the 4 other neighbors that have been picking this garbage up on a regular basis are tired of doing it. None of us support a PUBLIC boat launch in this area but if YOU do then the garbage is waiting for you there NOW to pickup. Come get it before it washes into the creek.
When I asked the town buildings and grounds committee last week their solution for this PROBLEM ….they had none …except for volunteers to pick it up. Do you believe adding a PUBLIC boat launch here will make the problem better or worse?
This is one of many issues that a PUBLIC facility in a residential neighborhood causes.
